Community Extension Services is one of the most important trilogy functions of Higher Educational Institutions. It paved the way of SVCI in sharing its knowledge and resources to the target community. The Community Extension Services Division was created in order to address the needs of the marginalized and underprivileged sector of the community in accord by local, national, and international concerns such as, among other things, articulated respectively in barangay and municipality development plans, government development agencies’ thrusts and specific CHED guidelines, ASEAN University Network (AUN) Community Engagement guidelines, and UNs Sustainable Development Goals

The center has two classifications of extension services: departmental level and institutional level. The departmental level has a specific scope of programs that they are going to render to the chosen beneficiary. Its services are in accordance with the nature of degree program/s that the department is offering. The institutional level has a bigger coverage where academic and non-academic offices are going to engage into a collaborative effort in order to address the different needs of the identified beneficiary.

The Center for Community Extension Services was established in 2010. The center has been dealing with the community for four productive years since it was founded. It continuously extends its programs to different communities and institutions around the province of Zamboanga del Norte. Tangible programs such as literacy, seminars and trainings, health and sanitation development were among the services that aids communities to be empowered.
